Privacy Policy
Vertic is a ski tracking app. We built it to be useful without being invasive. This policy explains what data we collect, where it lives, and what we do with it.
What we collect and where it stays
Your session data — recorded runs, GPS tracks, speed, vertical drop, lift rides, and all statistics — is stored locally on your device. It does not leave your device unless you explicitly share or export it.
Your preferences, onboarding answers, home resort, and app settings are also stored locally using standard iOS storage (UserDefaults and the app's local file system).
Location data
Vertic requests "Always On" location access to track ski runs, detect lift rides, and automatically identify your resort. Location data is used exclusively within the app to power these features. We do not upload, sell, or share your location data with third parties.
Motion and fitness
Vertic may use motion data to distinguish lift rides from descents and to improve run detection accuracy. This data is processed on your device and is not transmitted anywhere.
Purchases
Vertic offers an in-app subscription processed through Apple's App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage purchase verification and restoration. RevenueCat may process transaction identifiers and device information as part of this service. We do not have access to your payment details — those are handled entirely by Apple.
No account required
Vertic does not require you to create an account. We do not ask for your email address, name, or any personal identifiers to use the app.
No ads, no data selling
Vertic does not show third-party ads and does not sell your personal information to anyone, ever.
Analytics
Vertic does not currently include analytics SDKs. If we add any in the future, this policy will be updated before they go live.
Data deletion
Deleting the app from your device removes all locally stored data. There is nothing stored on our servers to delete.
Security
Vertic is designed to keep your data on your device. While we have built the app with security in mind, no app or device can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Children
Vertic is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
